WalMart in Mexico? Si!
By Jane Goodwin | August 10, 2007
Baby boomers and retirees who relocate to Mexico might be happy to learn that they won’t be leaving WalMart entirely behind.
In Mexico, they can shop at WalMex!
Wal-Mart operates nearly 893 retail outlets in Mexico, including restaurants and supermarkets. Its stores and restaurants operate under the names Superama, Suburbia, VIPS, Sam’s Club and Bodega Aurrera. The company is now Mexico’s largest private sector employer. It competes fiercely with Soriana, Supermercados Gigante, Comercial Mexicana, Casa Ley, Chedraui and H-E-B.
In other words, pensionados, boomers, and retirees in Mexico, take a look at your shopping options up there! Not only do you still have WalMart, you’ll have tons of other shopping possibilities, as well.
This isn’t even mentioning the wonderful local shops and markets. Don’t forget those!
Shampoo shopping in Mexico is just like home. And while you’re in the store, grab some bottled water; you can’t have too much of THAT!
