Panama: Health Care For Less Than HALF the American Cost!!!!
By Jane Goodwin | August 22, 2007
Punta Pacifica Hospital in Panama City is affiliated with Johns Hopkins, in the States. Amereicans without medical insurance, and Canadians who don’t want to wait a year or more for an operation, already make up about 25 percent of the hospital’s patients, and the hospital is brand new!
Surgeries and procedures at Punta Pacifica cost half as much, or even less, than the same surgery or procedure in an American hospital.
Punta Pacifica Hospital has 65 beds at present, and is inspected regularly by Johns Hopkins inspectors. Three of the Punta Pacifica doctors are U.S.-certified surgeons.
It is a fact that many American doctors are advising their patients to have their surgeries and procedures done in Panama, especially patients with no insurance or who can’t afford the same operation in the States.
Dr. Jose Jaen, a Miami orthopedic surgeon says that “It’s the same surgeon, the same operation and the same orthopedic treatment that the patient would get in my Miami clinic, but at half the price, and that includes airfare and hotel.”
Wow.
To sum up, worries about healthcare are one of the primary worries that retirees and baby boomers have. It looks to me as though Panama and other Central American countries are the perfect place to retire, because the healthcare is fantastic!
