Mexico’s Chichen Itza Pyramid Named One of the New Seven Wonders of the World

The traditional Seven Wonders of the World were:
Hanging Gardens of Babylon Statue of Zeus Temple of Artemis Mausoleum Colossus of Rhodes Pharos Lighthouse Giza Pyramid

Of these seven ancient wonders, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, the Colossus of Rhodes and the Pharos lighthouse off Alexandria have all vanished, and only the Egyptian pyramids of Giza remain today.

The new Seven Wonders of the World have been announced, by popular vote, to be: Great Wall of China Colosseum Taj Mahal Jordan's Petra Machu Pichu Christ the Redeemer Brazil Chichen Itza

The Great Wall of China, Rome’s Colosseum, India’s Taj Mahal, Jordan’s Petra, Peru’s Machu Picchu, Brazil’s Statue of Christ Redeemer and Mexico’s Chichen Itza pyramid.
