Healthcare, Insurance, and Weather in a Foreign Country

By Jane Goodwin | February 27, 2007

Jenalia Morena’s interview with author and businessman Mitch Creekmore continues.  Ms. Morena asked Mr. Creekmore about healthcare and medical problems baby boomers might be concerned about, in another country.

Mr. Creekmore replied that the health care services in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama are excellent.  There are many hospital institutions in the U.S. that are now established in Mexico.  Many of the doctors in these countries were educated in the United States and then returned to their home countries to provide health care.  And if something catastrophic should happen that a retiree wishes to return to the States to have done, the ease and proximity of geography and air travel make that a swift and simple matter.

Different countries have different climates, and each climate has its own set of weather emergencies.  Mr. Creekmore assured Ms. Morena that U.S. buyers can easily insure their properties in Mexico and Central America.  These countries not only have their own excellent insurance systems, but retirees can also find big U.S. insurance corporations there.

These things are good to know.  Thank you, Ms. Morena and Mr. Creekmore, of Houston, Texas.
