Health Tourism in Costa Rica, Pt. 2

By Jane Goodwin | June 18, 2007

There are two reasons people are choosing Costa Rica for medical services: high quality and reasonable prices. With all the focus on the stunning scenery, ideal climate, friendly locals, and natural attractions, many people are not aware that Costa Rica is also a top destination for a growing number of foreigners looking for quality health care at rock bottom prices.

Many people opt for a combination of health care and eco-adventure!

Yoga Adventures offers guided trips combining the themes of a relaxing yoga retreat and an exciting adventure vacation in a land of overwhelming natural beauty and one of the most tropically biodiverse countries in the world.

Costa Ricans have used the rich minerals, such as pure, mineral-rich clay taken from deep within the earth, often at the base of an active volcano, for therapeutic mud treatments, guaranteed to wake up your senses and set your body tingling. They’re also good for migraines, and arthritis.

Don’t think for a minute, though, that health care in Costa Rica consists of yoga and mud and nothing else. Costa Rica has some of the most up-to-date hospitals and clinics in the world today, and don’t forget that little fact that millions of people come here for treatments they could not afford in the States.
