Central America: Find Your Dream Home In Panama, Honduras, Belize, Nicaraugua, Costa Rica, or Dominican Republic!

By Jane Goodwin | June 12, 2007

Genesis 3 Design Group, a pool design company in Costa Rica, says that many Americans who retire to Central America build a new pool within the first year - 90% or more, in fact.

This is not something a homeowner will do if he/she expects to sell and move away any time soon. This is what homeowners do when they’re planning to stay a long, long time. Juan Roca, of Genesis 3, says that “The pools we build are usually in houses that have views. We have a lot of beach entrances because families love them, but we don’t install many spas because the weather is always so warm. Instead, we do a lot of in-pool seats, where there is hydrotherapy in a corner inside the pool. . . .”

Today’s retirees aren’t seeking therapy and rest and relaxation, as a general rule. They’re looking for a new life in a new location.

It happens all the time. Someone who is near retirement begins to peruse ads for retirement relocation, and the very best deals seem to be in Central America! How does this one sound: 200-home retirement community with golf course, huge pool, 24-hour security, and lush mountainside location. Sounds wonderful, yes?

It’s in Panama. Similar descriptions can be found all over Central America, in fact.

Americans read a real estate ad, check out the local healthcare, transfer their money to a local bank, pack up everything, and move south, and not just for the winter, either.

You can do it, too. Check around, make a deposit, and move to paradise.

Florida has become overcrowded and overpriced, but the same climate can be found in Central America for a tenth of the price. Panama, Honduras, Belize, and Nicaragua, among others, are offering retirees tax-free relocation services and heavily discounted health-care benefits.

Retirees who could not afford a luxury mountainside or beachfront home in the States, let alone a fancy pool, find that in Central America, dreams really can come true!
